burrp! on your Nokia

Posted by nishi on January 28th, 2010

We’re awfully late on reporting this one, but for those of you who have not been keeping up with world news, we’re happy to declare that burrp! is in fact a content partner for Nokia Ovi.

The recently launched version of Ovi Maps for Nokia’s Smartphones (currently available only for S60 3.2 and 5th edition devices) that serve as high end walk & drive navigation systems have joined forces with us for lifestyle related content for India of the 180 countries that the service is available in.

Walk & drive navigation systems simply provide instructions as to where you’re headed with arrows & voice commands to guide, as you move around town.

Any Suggestions?

Posted by nishi on January 15th, 2010

We are happy to announce another development; we’ve now added search suggestions on TV. Just as in burrp! local, when one types in the search box on tv.burrp.com a drop down of suggestions appear.

Why suggestions? To assist our much loved users of course.

No worries if you don’t quite know the spelling of the show you’re looking for & yes we wish to spoil you too, simply select the suggestion if you find it tiresome to type the entire title out.

Share It First, Share It Safe

Posted by nishi on January 11th, 2010

We’ve come up with a new feature; you could always invite your friends to burrp! but it was never this easy.

Now share places, reviews, events or even invite friends to burrp! using your Gmail contacts from the Invite pop-up itself. No need to remember any email addresses; just select them from your existing list on Gmail.

To try out this feature:

  • Go to a listing, event or review on burrp!
  • Click on Share - Email
  • Notice the ‘Import contacts from Gmail’ link? Click on it to sync your Gmail address book with your burrp! address book
  • Now all you need to do is select the contacts from the list to share the listing, event or review with them
  • You can manage your contacts from the ‘Manage Contacts’ link on the profile page. The Manage Contacts interface also lets you delete a contact (only) from the burrp! address book

This one’s both safe and simple to use. Give it a shot & tell us what you think.
