We welcomed Bangalore into our family a few days ago with the quiet release of http://bangalore.burrp.com. We’re very excited about the prospects of Bangalore given the density of internet usage in that city along with the strong “going-out” culture that exists there. Everyone all around has just done an amazing job - from our photography team to the dev team, people stretched themselves to the limit for this one. We think the Bangalore locals will find burrp! quite useful, and as always, we’re open for feedback 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Onwards and upwards…

Hi Guys,

Just wondering, before launching burrp for any city, how do you do get the initial content? i.e., before the user generated content starts to build up. Do you get volunteers, send in your own team, or have a beta version ready for some users to start adding content prior to launch?

We collect the content through several offline/online sources. But we do have a team on the ground though that goes about the city collecting content, both visual (photographs) and meta (details about the business listing).

For the Bangalore site, we’ve uploaded only a few photographs for now. The remaining will get uploaded over the next few days. Check out the Burrp! Mumbai site to get an idea of the visual content.
