2007 will be a critical year for a lot of Indian internet startups. Many of them (including us) do not have the cash to sustain their businesses indefinitely, and a very rare few will be able to sustain operational expenses through revenue. There is an overabundance of capital in the market, but VCs are getting smarter about where to put their money (think Matrix’s recent investment in a Chinese fast food chain).
There will be a few good spaces to place your bets on: local search (online and mobile), online/mobile ticketing, public equity-related content, and classifieds (there is a better, smarter way to do it than Naukri or Shaadi).
There is a lot in store for burrp! in 2007, including very interesting ways we will be rounding out the site to make it more appealing to everyone not into food and nightlife. Given the above list, you have all the clues you need to know what we’re interested in.
Are there any other bankable consumer facing internet ideas that I may have missed? Your thoughts? Onwards and upwards…

Thank god!! Even I was tired from just food talk. We eat to live and not live to eat. Please move burrp from food and club stuff. I don’t want to recommend because of too much stress from burrp on clubbing and partying.
