wow. one whole year since burrp! has been live now, and i must say, as cliche as it may sound, it’s been quite the ride. as in any company’s life, there have been a fair share of seemingly insurmountable challenges as well as priceless rewards; some moments where we really felt alone, down and out; and others where we shined brilliantly; times when we were told that our idea sucked and had no chance; and others where we were patted on the back for our execution and ingenuity.
i’d have to say that the one thing i’m most proud of is the team we’ve built at burrp! i feel we are simply unmatched anywhere else in the country. while my belief in burrp! is unshaken and steadfast, the practical side of me knows that we are in a very risky game here. probability and statistics are stacked up firmly against us. even so, we push forward and continue to prove people wrong left and right. those who at first blush though this was some interesting science project now will attest to our grit, our determination, and our superior skill. a healthy community of non-believers still exist, and honestly, where would we be without them? they are the fuel for our fire.
i won’t lie to you. there has been more than one time where the situation was dire, and not from an operational standpoint, but more from an emotional standpoint. you see, most of us have given up a lot, sacrificed time away from family when they need us most; sacrificed cushy jobs with big paychecks; sacrificed our own health to make burrp! what it is today. that’s not easy to do every day, and sometimes, you can’t wake up with a smile on your face. sometimes, it just hurts, and that’s when we all lean on each other for support.
we’ve got a long way to go, but we can sense we’re on to something. the market will take its own path, and there’s not much we can do to control that. but if the market is truly headed where we think it is, if the indian consumer will someday rely on the internet as an important part of their life, as a useful resource for information, we will be right there with them.
the time is now and there’s only one place to go from here - onwards and upwards….

Big Deap,
Burrp has a come a long way from the time we discussed about this in your restaurant with Mr. Simpson…Great work by you, Anand and your team….Wish you the very best to march ahead
Shankar.
