Look Who’s Tweeting!

Posted by roanna on May 19th, 2010

Hey folks,

It’s been long but here we are, at the cliff, ready to soar to new heights and more. We’ve recently got ourselves a brand new twitter account. The account, @burrp is essentially a universal burrp account as compared to the city specific accounts that we already have.  The other twitter handles are: burrp_mumbai, burrp_delhi, burrp_chennai, burrp_bangalore, burrp_hyderabad, burrp_pune, burrp_ahmedabad & burrp_kolkata.

The universal burrp account is going to be for all those of you who have general queries about our website, job openings, overhauls of any kind or basically any technical information that you would be interested to learn. It’ll be your local punching bag and sounding board for burrp related queries of sorts. So hit us with your thoughts, suggestions, opinions or more.

We’re all ears! : )

Featured Reviews on burrp!

Posted by aarti on March 10th, 2010

‘Morning burrpers, howdy?

Many of you are wondering why we are not sending out movie tickets to featured reviews for the last few weeks.

Here’s why - The burrp! team noticed that the users focus was gradually deviating from helping the community and writing passionate fun-to-read reviews about real experiences to writing reviews for the sake of winning movie tickets. This made us decide, that while the really awesome reviews will continue to get their special spot on the homepage, we will no longer use ongoing monetary means to reward them. Our aim is to generate quality reviews. If some users are discouraged by this decision, so be it because it should never have been about the movie tickets. The tickets were a reward not a bait.

All said and done, every once in a while if we do notice a review that totally bowls us over, we may just send that burrper a special care package to tell them how much we love them! ;)

burrp! on your Nokia

We’re awfully late on reporting this one, but for those of you who have not been keeping up with world news, we’re happy to declare that burrp! is in fact a content partner for Nokia Ovi.

The recently launched version of Ovi Maps for Nokia’s Smartphones (currently available only for S60 3.2 and 5th edition devices) that serve as high end walk & drive navigation systems have joined forces with us for lifestyle related content for India of the 180 countries that the service is available in.

Walk & drive navigation systems simply provide instructions as to where you’re headed with arrows & voice commands to guide, as you move around town.
